Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal or Senior Principal Quality Control Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse, and quality minded individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT. You will be a part of a Quality Committed Team supporting the Supplier Quality Organization. Our team works in a lab using cutting edge equipment, exotic materials and novel products to innovate within our mission, working across the site facilities supporting, manufacturing, and testing of composite structures. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement testing and inspection procedures per customer and product specifications
  • Test materials, chemicals, to ensure compliance to specifications
  • Translate test procedures, engineering specifications, and quality requirements to assure conformance to specifications
  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned
  • Advise quality control and resolve materials, chemicals, and finished product concerns
  • Responsible for the lab daily operations, (direct oversight of the staff, work assignments, schedules, day to day workflow, and technical support for the lab)
  • Develop ground-breaking solutions for material testing
  • Develop requirements for structural and chemical testing
  • Lead root cause and corrective action requirement analysis
  • Develop and report on test data collection, analysis, and tracking material trends

Our Supplier Quality team works independently but interacts constantly with manufacturing, engineering groups and customers to achieve expectations. We empower our team members to make decisions, but can draw upon corporate resources to support us when needed. Each member of the team is tasked with identifying ways to improve efficiency in the team in the pursuit of continuous improvement. We’re looking for a fellow self-starter who enjoys assessing and understanding risk to join us.

This role is day shift with minimal off hour support. Travel is estimated to be less than 10%. We work a 9/80 schedule, which gives you every other Friday off to pursue interests outside of work. This role can be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal level depending on the qualifications below.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Principal:

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of quality experience, or a Masters degree and 3+ years of quality experience.  Note: An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of composites
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance and special program access

Senior Principal

  • Bachelors degree and 9+ years of quality experience, or a Masters degree and 7+ years of quality experience.  Note: An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of composites
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance and special program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in composite materials testing methods, procedures, failure modes, environmental effects
  • Experience supporting composite primary and secondary structures, metallic, vendor supplied material certifications, approved materials list, and support activities
  • Functional knowledge of production control systems (ePIC, Solumina, Costpoint, Mfg/etc.)

Salary Range: 72200 - 108400
Salary Range 2: 89500 - 134300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
