Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our Team in our Clearfield, Utah location. 

Role Description & Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Technician performs technical, mechanical, and chemical testing and recording analysis in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality, and accuracy requirements. Performs a variety of technical procedures, such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation. Conducts laboratory support functions such as working with mechanical and chemical equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware. Performs technical procedures that conform to company and regulatory policies and standard that meets quality and accuracy requirements in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental. Responsible for daily testing, and technical support for the lab.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain quality standards and specifications of finished product through testing and analysis of results
  • Ensure that product documentation and testing paperwork are completed properly and clearly
  • Perform routine physical and chemical testing
  • Specimen preparation of composite materials
  • Operate various analytical and mechanical testing equipment
  • Complete and update reports, logs, etc. to ensure that product and standards are within required specifications
  •  Ensure laboratory equipment is operating and maintained properly, with any and all problems clearly communicated to other lab personnel and Supervisors
  • Follow all safety, company, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Use standard measuring equipment
  • Read and understand manufacturing procedures
  • Ability to receive and follow specific instructions from procedures, engineers, and supervision
  • Experience using scientific instrumentation and equipment
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player; works well in a team environment
  • Experience in composites is a plus

Salary Range: $51,300 USD - $85,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
