Peraton is seeking a Principal IT Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clinton, TN. The Principal IT System Administrator will be the lead who oversees and maintains information systems, networks, servers and user PCs as well as aid in product software development. Role and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains information systems software updates, patches, backups, security policies and protocols.
  • Interacts with local users, corporate IT administrators and corporate help desk to provide assistance for updates and troubleshooting of IT systems.
  • Coordinates SW installations and provides backup recovery. Provides administrator level access/support of Remotec’s Global Shop Solutions ERP/accounting system.
  • Assures cyber security protocols and policies are followed
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Works with software development team to provide software updates to Remotec’s Andros unmanned ground robot systems performing general coding updates using C, C++, Linux, Python and embedded development tools.
  • Receives new hardware and software requests and monitors procurement and deployment activities of IT assets
  • Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with six years relevant experience –OR- Master’s degree with four years relative experience in computer science, information systems management, information technology or other related fields. An additional four years of relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with management of network servers, Cisco hardware and switched networks
  • Proficient with Windows domain architecture, Windows 10 installation, configurations, installing patches
  • Familiar with Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed to manage after hours troubleshooting, patching and updates
  • Experience with installation and administration of CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventory, Vault, SolidWorks
  • Software license management   
  • Proficient in installation and setup of network servers, switches and other network hardware
  • Proficient in installation and setup of user PCs, peripheral devices, and applications
  • Experience with troubleshooting network issues, user systems and application issues
  • Possesses strong organizational and self-management skills to manage organizational IT assets and IT administration needs
  • Familiar with setting up and managing network accounts for ERP/MRP systems
  • Familiar with C/C++ and Python programming languages
  • US Citizenship is required
Preferred qualifications:
  • Familiar with Global Shop Solutions ERP system
  • Experience with developing Crystal Reports
  • Proficient in Linux networking
  • Prior experience developing applications using C/C++ and Python
  • Prior experience managing Autodesk Inventor and Vault configurations and accounts
