As a Human Factor Engineer, you will be developing and sustaining systems using current technologies and others yet to come. What You'll Get to Do:

  • Participate in user research activities inclusive of participatory design sessions
  • Interpret program needs into effective visual communication tools
  • Solve complex program problems through design
  • Help conceptualize as well as translate feature requirements in interaction and visual designs
  • Translating research artifacts into effective communication tools
  • Rapidly develop behavioral prototypes, user flows, final design assets, hi-fidelity mock-ups and lightweight design specifications.

Minimal travel is expected. This position will be based in our Colorado Springs airport facility.

  • Flexible schedules on some programs, like the ability to work a 9/80 work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work

Basic Qualifications:

Principal UX Designer

  • BS/BA in related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with a Master's degree) In lieu of education, 4 years of additional exempt related experience will be considered.
  • Active DoD Secret and ability obtain Top Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with UX design for mobile applications
  • Strong understanding of Lean UX
  • Experience with UX prototyping and design applications such as Axure, Sketch and InVision
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Basic understanding of Digital Engineering concepts (DevSecOps, MBx, Lean-Agile)

Sr Principal UX Designer

  • BS/BA in related field and at least 9 years of relevant experience (7 years with a Master's degree) In lieu of education, 4 years of additional exempt related experience will be considered.
  • Active DoD Secret and ability obtain Top Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with UX design for mobile applications
  • Strong understanding of Lean UX
  • Experience with UX prototyping and design applications such as Axure, Sketch and InVision
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Basic understanding of Digital Engineering concepts (DevSecOps, MBx, Lean-Agile)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret /SCI
  • Experience building user interfaces that comply with MIL-STD constraints
  • Understanding or experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Interest or experience in UI design patterns used in modern gaming, VR and AR

Salary Range: 114100 - 171100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
