What you’ll get to do:

As a Software Lead working within one of our radar programs you will join our diverse and talented engineering organization in support of our National Defense. You will be responsible for your team who will design and develop the front end encapsulation layer software interfacing with the radar hardware. Using Agile principles you will provide the leadership and vision to build and direct your  team of highly capable software engineers to design and implement an open, modular, maintainable baseline based upon COTS, GOTS, and custom software.  Successful candidates should have experience developing FEEL software for complex hardware/software  systems.  In addition, candidates must possess strong problem solving skills and be able to work collaboratively with experienced engineering and program management teams to meet our customer’s needs.

Minimal travel is expected. This position will be based in our Colorado Springs airport facility.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or other STEM discipline  with 7 years of related experience or 5 years related experience with a Master's Degree, 3 with a PhD
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
  • Experience with  FEEL software development on hardware/software systems
  • Experience with the development of SOA based software services and micro services
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with Agile processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Experience with Cloud development
  • Experience with RF systems, Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA), calibration, radar waveforms, Electronic Attack (EA), or Electronic Protection (EP)
  • Experience with radar waveforms, digital beamforming, adaptive processing or algorithm development


Salary Range: 114100 - 171100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
