The Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Business Unit (BU) is looking for a C++ Software Engineer at our Colorado Springs, CO location to realize the following objectives:

  • Support the development of Models and Simulations of Next generation radar systems, Weapon Systems and Sensors (IR and RF)
  • Coordinate with key NGSP personnel at various NG locations
  • Support Strategic level campaigns and captures

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

  • Software Engineer 2: 2 Years with Bachelor’s Degree; 0 Years with Masters.
  • Software Engineer 3: 5 Years with Bachelor’s Degree; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
  • Experience developing software/writing code in C++.
  • Active Secret Level DOD Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with RF and/or radar analysis
  • Experience developing software with C++ and/or Python
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience integrating and debugging software
  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Experience in Missile Defense, Modeling and Simulation Sensor Performance
  • Experience with AFSIM or related M&S software
  • Understanding of radar systems, hardware and capabilities
  • Expertise with MATLAB, Python, or similar
  • Background in SW development or SW development management

The successful candidate will: develop new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models; simulate real-time operations and develop software that simulates behavior of systems; develop, integrate, and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools; model operational environments, perform trade studies via computer simulation and recommend alternative architectures; and perform operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.


Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
