Come be a part of our mission.As Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Lead, you will be responsible for executing the overall systems engineering effort on the program, directing the execution of all systems engineering activities.  The SEIT Lead is responsible for horizontal and vertical technical integration across the program.  The Systems Engineer Lead is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of the systems engineering processes and timely development of core systems engineering work products.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Staff System Engineer Lead based out of Colorado Springs, CO. This position will serve on the Deep-Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) program. As the SEIT Lead, this candidate must have a background in ground based system development and deployment with preferred experience in ground based fixed radars. Depth of experience must include overseeing, managing, and directing engineering activities to meet major milestones while addressing technical risks through comprehensive mitigation activities embedded in an Integrated Master Schedule. The SEIT Lead will report directly to the DARC Chief Engineer and coordinate activities across multiple engineering teams.  What You’ll Get to Do:
  • Responsible for defining a team organization to provide effective specialty engineering and digital system model, development capabilities across all program activities.
  • Lead requirements derivation from system to subsystem and configuration item levels
  • Lead design, integration and test development activities to ensure compliance with performance, interface, cyber, safety, integration, and test requirements
  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
  • Manage program verification and validation efforts per E475-MSO, Verification, and E476-MSO, Validation.
  • Interface with the customer for the System Technical Baseline Management.
  • Work with the Digital Engineering Center (DEC) and Engineering functional management to ensure the use and application of standardized tools and development environments, as applicable to contract scope.
  • Oversee the creation of the Technical Review Plan
  • The lead also identifies resources to assist with refining task order and delivery order requirements and developing proposals.
  • Defining and overseeing systems Configuration Management.
  • Coordinating with Engineering SEIT and NGSP Engineering Community of Excellence (eCOE) to establish tailored NG processes for SE lifecycle and work products.
  • Define scope and requirements definition
  • Support system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation
  • Generate, review, and update systems engineering documentation and collaborate with radar subject matter experts to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as strong problem solving and analytical skills. They will have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment and be a self-starter, efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of systems engineering experience; or 12 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 9 years with PhD.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and the ability obtain an SCI
  • Experience in successfully leading cross-functional technical teams
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
  • Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS
  • Experience in Cost Account Management
  • Experience in Supplier/Subcontracts Management
  • Experience Requirements Decomposition
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance/SCI
  • Experience in Ground Radar Systems
  • Experience in RF Design and Digital Signal Processing
  • Familiarity or experience with test automation
  • Familiarity or experience in using a discrepancy management tool, such as Jira
  • Familiarity or experience with continuous integration and deployment environments and tools such as Bamboo
  • Familiarity or experience with version control tools such as Bitbucket
  • Familiarity or experience with Unix/Linux operating systems

Salary Range: $141,800 USD - $212,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
