This position is in Colorado Springs, CO.Position Overview: Through the role of an PARCS Radar Release Train Engineer (RTE) the selected candidate will facilitates program level processes and execution, drives continuous development, manages risks and dependencies, and escalates impediments while also acting as a full-time chief Scrum Master (SM) for a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The selected candidate will also provide functional management to a group of up to 12 software engineers coordinating and conducting: hiring, performance management, employee development and training.Responsibilities:
  • Lead the efforts of developing Scaled Agile engineering and management best practices, metrics, and audit practices.
  • Conduct Scrum Team training, product backlog and retrospective training, Lean Agile development training.
  • Support a range of technical disciplines from software engineering to hardware to cyber to testing automation for the Scrum Teams.
  • Facilitate Agile Release Train events including Project Increment (PI) planning events
  • Collect and analyze related metrics for trends and indicators, facilitate iteration/increment planning, provide Agile coaching and mentoring at all levels within the organization.
  • Regular interaction with the customer and Delivery Order Lead.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the ART.
  • Provide functional management of a group of software engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience as a Release Train Engineer or Scrum Master (or similar relatable experience - i.e., Release Train Engineer Certified, Certified Scrum Practitioner, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, etc.).
  • Familiarity with using Jira, Confluence, and Fisheye/Crucible
  • Experience working within a SAFe framework
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Agile Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previously led a multi-team, multi-disciplinary Release Train that utilizes both Scrum and Kanban practices.
  • Expert in the use of the Atlassian suite of tools (ex. Jira, Confluence), including utilizing data and available reporting to identify trends, present performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Certification in SAFe RTE, or Agile Coach
  • Experience implementing Agile principles and practices within DoD or Federal government environments.
  • Experience with transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile methods and practices.
  • Background in software development or software development management.
  • Knowledge of System Engineering principles and requirements management.
  • Experience in functional supervision of a team.

Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
