Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a System Engineer within the Hardware IPT, to lead and manage the Antenna Subsystem major subcontract and product delivery. This role requires a strong technical knowledge base of systems engineering and major subcontractor oversite.  The selected candidate will be responsible to manage the technical baseline of the DARC Antenna SS, interface with subcontractor technical and program management, conduct required reviews, and manage product deliveries. This position will work closely the various HW subsystem leads, Systems Engineering, and program management, to ensure the DARC Antenna SS technical baseline meets program requirements and product deliveries meet critical milestone objectives.

As the DARC Antenna SS lead you will be responsible for:

  • Act as the Northrop Grumman responsible engineer for the DARC Antenna SS

  • Ensure key performance parameters are tracked and meet program requirements

  • Working closely with Global Supply Chain to manage the contractual and technical baseline of the DARC Antenna SS

  • Work closely with program management on schedule performance of the Antenna SS supplier against program milestones

  • Maintain and coordinate updates to the established Antenna SS requirements and Statement of Work

  • Coordinate with all NG stakeholders as the DARC Antenna SS moves into production and formal qualification testing

  • Manage and coordinate risk items associated with the DARC Antenna SS

  • Conduct and support any trade studies associated with the DARC Antenna SS

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) plus 9 years experience, MS + 7 years, or a PhD + 4 years. Experience in lieu of degree can be considered

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite

  • Ability to travel up to 25% during the design phase

  • Systems engineering experience across the entire development life cycle

  • Experience with test plan development and alignment with requirements selloff

  • Experienced with ground-based radar systems design, development, and sustainment

  • Foundation in requirements management, derivation, and verification methodologies

  • Experience working with major subcontractors with a strong commitment to shared success

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to travel up to 50% OCONUS during site deployment phase of the program

  • Cost Account management experience including both labor and material accounts

  • Practical application of Agile mythologies

  • Agile tool set experience (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)

  • Technical background in one or more of the following: RF theory, large parabolic aperture development, two axis positioner mechanical design and analysis, heating and cooling system design

  • Experience with large ground data processing systems and or ground based Radar systems

  • Experienced in integrating large, complex systems made up of complex hardware and software elements

  • Hands on experience with various types of test equipment, such as spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, and optical power meters

  • Program and schedule management experience

Salary $114,300 - $171,500


Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
