Come be a part of our mission!Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff System Engineer within the Hardware IPT, to lead and manage the development and delivery of two major components that make up the Receiver Subsystem. This role requires a strong technical knowledge base of RF theory, systems engineering and experience with managing major subcontractors.  The selected candidate will be responsible to manage the technical baseline of the DARC Receiver SS, interface with subcontractor technical and program management, conduct required reviews, and manage product deliveries. This position will work closely the various HW subsystem leads, Systems Engineering, and program management, to ensure the DARC Receiver SS technical baseline meets program requirements and product deliveries meet critical milestone objectives. This position will be based on Colorado Springs, CO.As the DARC Receiver SS lead you will be responsible for:
  • Act as the Northrop Grumman responsible engineer for the DARC Receiver SS and components that make up the Receiver SS.
  • Ensure key performance parameters are tracked and meet program requirements
  • Maintain performance models and budgets (Noise figure, gain, dynamic range, Size, weight, and power)
  • Working closely with Global Supply Chain to manage the contractual and technical baseline of the DARC Receiver SS
  • Work closely with program management on schedule performance of the Receiver SS component suppliers against program milestones
  • Maintain and coordinate updates to the established Receiver SS component requirements and Statement of Work(s)
  • Coordinate with all NG stakeholders as the DARC Receiver SS moves into production and formal qualification testing
  • Manage and coordinate risk items associated with the DARC Receiver SS
  • Conduct and support any trade studies associated with the DARC Receiver SS
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM Field and 14 years of experience is required. Or, 12 years and a Master's degree STEAM. Or, 9 years with a PhD.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required in order to be considered.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Ability to travel up to 25% during the design phase
  • Systems engineering experience across the entire development life cycle
  • Basic RF theory and cascade RF chain analysis experience
  • Hands on experience with various types of test equipment, such as spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators
  • Experience with test plan development and alignment with requirements selloff
  • Foundation in requirements management, derivation, and verification methodologies
  • Experience working with major subcontractors with a strong commitment to shared success
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Analog receiver design and analysis experience
  • Knowledge and experience with noise figure cascade analysis, TOI cascade analysis, and receiver
  • Ability to travel up to 50% OCONUS during site deployment phase of the program
  • Experienced with ground-based radar systems design, development, and sustainment
  • Cost Account management experience including both labor and material accounts
  • Practical application of Agile mythologies
  • Agile tool set experience (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with analog to digital sampling technique
  • Experience with large ground data processing systems and or ground based Radar systems
  • Experienced in integrating large, complex systems made up of complex hardware and software elements

Salary Range: $141,800 USD - $212,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
