Come be a part of our mission!We are seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program as a Principal Systems Engineer for Process Management. This position will serve as a Systems Engineer focused on the plans and processes that support the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP) and Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) Weapons Systems. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.What You'll Get to Do:
  • Learn and manage SMORS processes and plans
  • Lead and provide oversight for program process improvement projects
  • Support the development and re-assessment of system integration plans, procedures and processes used in the conduct of software/hardware and system integration
  • Analyze, evaluate, and propose recommendations to improve business processes
  • Create documentation detailing Process Improvements during assessments, or when observed
  • Manage updates of program procedures and plans for all disciplines
  • Ensure process training is complete, when necessary
  • Be continuously attentive toward Business Process Discovery
  • Create monthly status reports to include appropriate program documentation progresses
  • Follow Process Audit reports and results
  • Ensure leadership comments on processes and plans are addressed during assessments
  • Participate in program documentation peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and program requirements are included within the document
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years of systems engineering experience; or 7 years’ experience with a Master’s degree in STEM related discipline
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint to organize, share, and access program information
  • Experience in using Agile-like document management and team collaboration tools, such as Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience with program document review processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong system process knowledge and skills
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
  • DMAIC process improvement experience
  • Knowledge of NIMBUS process model
  • Knowledge of SMORS processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of SMORS SharePoint Data Management document review processes
  • Familiarity with Agile management processes
  • Experience in documentation and contract level requirements for documentation
  • Familiarity with processes which pertain to ground-based radars such as PARCS and BPP weapons systems
  • Self-starter - efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
