What you’ll get to do:

As a Principle Cyber Software Engineer you will be supporting software cybersecurity working directly with the DARC Cybersecurity Lead and software teams to ensure cybersecurity is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.  Analyze risks using methods such as structured risk analysis, threat models and static/dynamic source code analysis.  Document findings, recommend mitigation actions, develop and test fixes, and create POA&Ms.  Automate security controls to maximize value delivery.  Analyze program and system cybersecurity requirements and controls to derive software requirements, design solutions, and implement best security practices.  Successful candidates should have extensive experience with software development and cybersecurity system and software best practices, RMF, and a variety of security tools within a continuous integration environment.  In addition, candidates must possess proven communication skills, strong problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively with experienced engineering and program management teams to meet our customer’s needs.

Minimal travel is expected. This position can be performed either at our Colorado Springs Airport Facility or in our facility in Bellevue Nebraska..

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or other STEM discipline with 4 years of related experience or 2 years related experience with a master’s degree, 0 with a PhD
  • Sec+ or equivalent DoD 8570-M certification
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience with Java and or C++
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF
  • Experience with DISA STIGs (e.g., AS&D)
  • Experience analyzing the output from static/dynamic SCA tools such as Fortify, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Coverity, and OWASP ZAP
  • Experience with Agile development practices such as SAFe®, Scrum and Kanban

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSSLP, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570-M certification
  • Experience with DOORS, JIRA and, Confluence
  • Experience with radar system software and data processing
  • TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility

Salary Range: $96,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
