Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Facilities Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Commerce, CA.

The selected candidate will provide support to maintenance manager in planning, researching, designing and executing plant repairs and capital investment projects. The ideal candidate will have some experience leading and executing projects with minimum supervision. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities
  • Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility
  • Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings
  • Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition
  • Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
  • Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Manages multiple projects related to new equipment installation and upgrades from gathering quotes, creating PO until execution and installation
  • Comes up with solution for issues related to safety, production and operation
  • Supports maintenance and production department in research and study for new techniques and technology available to improve plant extrusion capacity
  • Manages multiple projects and tasks given by the production and maintenance manager
  • Assists with CMMS setup, Work Orders planning and execution
  • Supports other maintenance teams with engineering recommendation
  • Draw 2D CAD drawing
  • Understanding of P&ID
  • Works and plans tasks in an organized manner
  • Responsible for renewing compliance permits related to fire department, OSHA, AQMD

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a STEM program with 2 years of directly related experience
  • Must have FE/EIT certification
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD

Salary Range: 74200 - 111400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
