Northrop Grumman Space Components - Propulsion has an opening for a Non Destructive Test Technician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Commerce, CA

The NDT Technician will perform non-destructive tests (NDT) on propulsion systems or components. Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including Radiography (RT) and Penetrant Inspection (PT). Requires certifications in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations.

• NDT Inspection of component parts and assemblies in support of manufacturing, fabrication, test and receiving inspection.
• Perform duties with minimal supervision
• Operate Radiography equipment following established procedures.
• Perform Radiography and Penetrant Inspections, Level II NAS-410 certification required
• Develop NDI procedures and technique sheets
• Interface with other sources; i.e., functional areas, customers, source personnel and government representatives for acceptance of hardware at required inspection points. Perform other duties as required.
• Dimensional inspection of simple components and assemblies
• Excellent attendance, ability to work over time, and other shifts as required

Basic Qualifications:
• Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years of aerospace experience in a quality organization OR a High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years of aerospace experience in a quality organization may be considered in lieu of an Associate's degree
• Current Level II Radiography NDT Certification and Level II Penetrant NDT Certification is required and ability to provide records of this is a necessity
• Use of small hand tools and measuring devices; i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gages
• Perform physical requirements of the position, including use of hand tools, lift up to 25 lbs, pass eye examination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good penmanship.
• Excellent computer skills, multi tasking ability and work as part of a team
• Excellent attendance and punctualityUS Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Level II NASA Fracture critical certification for Penetrant (PT) and Radiography (RT).
• Level III Certifications in Penetrant (PT) and Radiography (RT) preferred.
