Tech Editor and Writer - Level 2 or 3

Northrop Grumman is in need of a Tech Writer – level 2 or level 3 to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility.

Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Job Duties:

Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by collaborating with SME’s (subject matter experts), referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.

Qualifications for level 2:

• Must have 7 years of experience.  Will consider those with a bachelors degree and 3 years of experience or those with a Master’s degree and 1 year of experience.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication abilities.
• Working knowledge in document preparation , editing, and grammar.
• Experience authoring technical documentation in Solumina (or other Manufacturing Execution System).
• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional team environments.

Qualifications for level 3:

• Must have 10 years of experience.  Will consider those with a bachelors degree and 6 years of experience or those with a Master’s degree and 4 years of experience.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication abilities.
• Working knowledge in document preparation , editing, and grammar.
• Experience authoring technical documentation in Solumina (or other Manufacturing Execution System).
• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional team environments.
