Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is seeking an OTS to join their team at the Promontory Utah location.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our Technical Training Team. 

This individual will be co-located in the Promontory Value Stream Organization.

This job require leadership skills and innovation in regards to training and the ability to drive training within the Value Stream Organization.

Creates a proactive learning environment within the VSO to capture knowledge and shorten the learning curve for new employees.   

This position will report to the Process Engineering Director through the Training and Support Engineering Manager. 

This position will also have a dotted line reporting structure to their applicable

VSO manager.   

Responsibilities/Skills include:

  • Significant responsibility for training effectiveness within the value stream, including metrics development and reporting, trainer/trainee effectiveness, shadowing/stand-back standardization, train the trainer, and MRB/STC feedback loops and incorporating lessons learned into the training program.  Op’s leadership will own overall responsibility, but this individual will play a critical role in tracking, monitoring and implementing.

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written

    • Comfortable standing up in front of groups and teaching in a classroom environment

    • Ability to write and develop training packets

  • Applicable process knowledge for the applicable VSO (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Basic Knowledge of the GLX system

  • Ability to lead teams

  • Responsible for On-boarding new employees into the VSO

    • Timecard, applicable safety, and any other special training for the area

    • Coordinate with Op’s Managers to set up new employees with proper training.

  • Work Closely with Operations management to make and implement improvements to On the Job Training (OJT) for the applicable work area.

    • Works with Operations leadership to develop OJT standards for specific OJT’s and documents this information to ensure each employee with in the area is trained to the same standard.

  • Acts as the liaison for training issues between the VSO and the training core team and works to resolve those issues

  • Performs the GLX Admin duties for the applicable VSO

  • Performs the Training Plan reviews for the applicable VSO

    • Works with the training core group to correct roles and assignments in GLX

  • Good problem solving skills

  • ESI Knowledge a Plus

    • Train operation personnel on how to create standard works in ESI

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma

  • Minimum of 6 years of operations experience with ops management/leadership preferred

  • Technical degree preferred

Salary Range: 59800 - 99600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
