We are currently seeking a Senior Principal Configuration Analyst to join our SLS Configuration Management Office (CMO) in our Promontory, Utah offices. 

Role description & Responsibilities:

The Senior Principal Configuration Analyst is responsible for supplier and subcontractor CM for NASA’s SLS Booster Program.

The Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst is responsible for preparation and/or review of documentation need for supplier/subcontractor CM, including procurement data lists, supplier operations change requests, statements of work, subcontractor data procurement documents, and subcontractor submittals.  This role requires knowledge of product engineering requirements and familiarity with a broad range of manufacturing processes.

Job Duties: 

  • Review and approve procurement data lists

  • Establish and maintain supplier baselines

  • Prepare and approve supplier operations changes requests (SOCRs)

  • Prepare subcontractor data procurement document (DPD)

  • Review and approve subcontractors’ configuration management plans

  • Process subcontractors’ Class I change proposals

Experience Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated ability to read engineering documentation (e.g. drawings, specifications, reports)

  • Experience using PDM tools (i.e., ePIC and TcUA)

  • Knowledge of aerospace products (design, manufacturing processes, inspection methods)

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience directly interfacing with suppliers and/or subcontractors

  • Experience creating documents in a PDM tool

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated independent work skills

  • Demonstrated innovation and/or problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture


  • BS degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    Science or engineering coursework is a plus.

  • Formal configuration management training is a plus

Salary Range: 89500 - 134300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
