Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Propulsion Division is currently seeking a Designer/Principal Designer, to provide design/drafting support in our Test and Research Operations (TRO) Value Stream team at the Promontory, Utah Facility

Role Description:

Successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating the UIE drawings database in TRO, which includes both mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.  Great interpersonal skills will be utilized as candidate will interface with engineers and technicians on a daily basis. Candidate must be willing to work overtime on occasion to meet drawing deadline requirements.    

Education/Requirements:  

  • BS degree and 2 years of related experience or AAS degree and 4 years related experience
  • Position can be filled at a higher level, 5 years with a BS or 7 years with an AAS
  • Must be able to qualify for an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) “Explosives Possessor” designation.
  • Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Must be disciplined to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to create clear and understandable documentation
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications

Experience Preferred

  • Experience with NX CAD systems, AutoCAD, P-CAD, and Altium.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design concepts

Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
