Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently recruiting for an Information Systems Technical Analyst to join our team at both the Promontory, Utah location and the Magna, Utah location.  Time will be spent at each facility.

Job Description:

Candidate will be responsible for plant process control systems, alarm systems, instrumentation, application programming, testing, commissioning, and maintenance system programming for Aerospace applications. The candidate will use plant process control systems to improve plant performance including product quality, rate, and availability. 

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge and capability to maintain, troubleshoot, and service the following software systems: Linux, Windows Server, Ruby on Rails, Passenger, NGinx, HTML Coding, XML Coding, embedded wireless LAN Programming, Excel, and SQL Database syntax. 

  • Knowledge and capability to maintain, troubleshoot, and service network access points and wireless point to point Ethernet bridge systems.

  • Involvement with migration of deprecated Linux systems from RHEL 5 to currently supported distribution. 

  • Interface with customers and IT to deploy, program, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain custom reports and data collection for plant-wide Wireless Monitoring Notification System. 

  • Work closely with other departments and engineers to manage instruments, installations, standards, control programs, maintenance programs, and certification cycles/programs to meet operational and regulatory compliance.

  • Define, write, and implement changes to existing process control programs.  Prevent downtime due to faults; continuous improvement to HMI and programming to extend life of existing process control systems and facilitate eventual replacement.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Participate in defining, developing, and executing equipment and process modifications to improve reliability, reduce costs, and /or improve safety.

  • Ability to program software systems for Maintenance applications and HVAC monitoring/control systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or in a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years troubleshooting, installing, and configuring applications running on Windows Operating Systems

  • Intermediate to advance understanding of client/server architecture, network design, and server operating systems.

    • Position may be filled at a higher level requiring:

      • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or in a related field.

      • Minimum of 5 years troubleshooting, installing, and configuring applications running on Windows Operating Systems

      • Intermediate to advance understanding of client/server architecture, network design, and server operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience of software development using a modern programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript

    • Position may be filled at a higher level requiring:

      • 5+ years experience of software development using a modern programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript

  • 2+ years experience using PTC ThingWorx, PTC Kepware, OSIsoft PI AF, or similar

    • Position may be filled at a higher level requiring:

      • 5+ years experience using PTC ThingWorx, PTC Kepware, OSIsoft PI AF, or similar

  • Strong Database knowledge (e.g. MS SQL Server, PostgresSQL, Oracle)

  • Knowledge in printed circuit board (PCB) design and embedded Wireless LAN Module programming to assist in developing a user interface for programming and setup of battery powered deployable sensors

  • Skills in HMI and PLC programming is a plus.

Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
