Engineering Technician 3 – Assistant M&TE Controller

Propulsion Systems is currently seeking an Engineering Technician 3, Test Area Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) Assistant Controller to provide testing support in our Test and Research Operations Value Stream team at the Promontory, Utah site.

Role Description:

The person filling this role will assist the M&TE Controller in maintaining calibrated test equipment for the Test and Research Operations. This involves tracking the calibration status of equipment, notifying using organizations of items coming due, coordinating the calibration of items with the metrology lab or vendors, and working with Test Engineers to verify calibrated equipment is available to support testing needs. The M&TE duties are expected to make up approximately half of the employee's work load. The remaining work load will be related to electronic technician work in the Test Systems Maintenance group - which includes duties such as troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment and cable fabrication including soldering and crimping.A successful candidate will have an understanding of instrumentation, electronics and data collection techniques. He/she will demonstrate great interpersonal skills to be able to communicate and work with other technicians and engineers on a daily basis. Candidate must be willing to work overtime on occasion to meet testing requirements.   Candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong attitude towards safety.  Experience Requirements:  

• Must be able to qualify for an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) “Explosives Possessor” designation.
• Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense security clearance.  
• Must be disciplined to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures.
• Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications
• Working knowledge of instrumentation
• Excellent organizational skills

Experience Preferred: 

• Working knowledge of electronics
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to create clear and understandable documentation
• Experience in set-up, fabrication, and troubleshooting of computer-controlled equipment

Education/Certifications:

• Associate degree in Electronics, Electronics Engineering or related field.

Salary Range: $51,300 USD - $85,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
