Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSS) is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support our space programs. The candidate will be a member of the Engineering-Eastern Region homeroom. Our Engineering team provides the skills and innovative technologies to design, develop, produce and sustain program and product lines across the space and ground systems domain while delivering a decisive advantage to our customer’s missions. This position will be located in Dahlgren, VA.The engineer will support the MOSSAIC (Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities) contract which provide sustainment services for current and future ground-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA) sensors, SSA Command and Control (C2) systems, and Space Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) capabilities. The work in Dahlgren specifically support the SSA C2 and Space BMC2 systems known as the Distributed Space Command and Control system – Dahlgren (DSC2-D). DSC2-D includes several tools and systems that are geographically separated from DSC2-D and are also within the MOSSAIC scope of responsibility that as an engineer who will work to develop and modernize existing systems. •Lead Integration Efforts of Command and Control or similar systems (data exchange and processing) •Address and detect issues that impact projects and implement/develop courses of action (COAs) to mitigate or alleviate the impact to projects •Prepare and brief technical presentations at informal and formal meetings •Write technical white papers, memorandums and reports •Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to enhance mission operations •Perform DoD compatible system engineering lifecycle processes •Support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours •Support the project management team by performing technical planning, including cost, risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems following a defined system design lifecycle process (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal) •Develop and execute risk mitigation plans and management of risks on projects •Act as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university with 9 years experience or Master's degree with 7 years experience or PhD with 4 years experience • Active DoD Secret security clearance • Ability to lead efforts to field changes to production systems schedule • Hardware/software requirement verification/system validation experience • Ability to travel 10%

Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledgeable in Information and Computer Systems and working knowledge of converged infrastructure and related technologies such as VMware, Networking, and Storage solutions •Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements •Experience with requirements analysis and systems design •Experience writing specifications, design, ConOps, and Interface Control Documents •Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers
