AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Strategic Business Venture, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications.

Overview

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Senior Principal Mission Assurance Engineer Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. 
  • Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. 
  • Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.
  • Assist the Program Quality Managers (PQM) with all Mission Assurance /Program Management requirements.
  • Generate, implement and maintain Quality Project Requirements (QPR).
  • Ensure functional area Program Quality Engineers (PQE) are aware of all program unique requirements. 
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Program Quality Plans
  • Assign program tasks to the functional area PQE’s.
  • Lead, participate, and facilitate program FRB/MRBs ensuring identification of root cause and proper implementation of corrective actions and reach back and across.
  • Assist PQM in preparation and execution of Program Preventive and Corrective Action
  • Develop and maintain Program Mission Assurance Metrics.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Program Management Program Review packages
  • Represent PQM and present Mission Assurance charts at Program Management Reviews (PMR) as required.
  • Assess Program staffing requirements / forecasts and communicate staffing needs to functional areas.
  • Assess impact of Out of scope activities, and support any re-plans.
  • Lead the efforts for Discrepancy Reporting (PDR’s, CDRs, etc, Waivers) Closures by functional area PQEs.
  • Support Program Materials and Parts Control Board (PMPCB) and Engineering in the validation and closure of Alerts.
  • Support PQM with Customer Corrective Action Requests
  • Support functional Area PQEs in Conditional Acceptance requirements and flow down.
  • Monitor timely closure of Conditionally Accepted hardware and work corrective actions with functional area PQEs.
  • Assist Functional area in addressing Incidents and track timely closure including Reach Across.
  • Support proposal activities in the development of Mission Assurance Task Descriptions and Basis of Estimates generation.
  • Function as Quality Systems Administrator for AS9100

Basic Qualifications:

  • Nine (9) years of experience in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Management, or related experience with a Bachelor's Degree OR seven (7) years with a Master's Degree
  • Experience reviewing customer requirements and developing plans
  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis
  • Experience processing Material Review Board dispositions
  • Experience with Flight Manufacturing Operations
  • Experience with Mission Assurance Management
  • Conversant with AS9100 and other associated ISO Standards
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for employment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Program Mission Assurance leadership experience
  • Active TS/SCI

Salary Range: 1 - 1

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
