Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Director, Programs – AOX, to provide program leadership and execution support to the AOX sites in Devens, MA and Hartford, CT. The Director, Programs is accountable for the entire AOX strategic BU product strategy, growth, program performance and risk management, customer interface, and PM talent management. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop the consolidated AOX long-range strategic plan. Develop rationale for growth opportunities and conduct business case analysis. Support new business activities targeting change management, increasing scope and content on existing programs, and identifying new opportunities with existing customers.
  • Accountable for the consolidated AOX product programmatic portion for Ops Reviews, delegations, and proposal reviews including cross-product proposals. Decision making authority, per delegation authority. Improve program risk register process and program cost control plan.
  • Serve as a tiered escalation level for programmatic, customer, and operational issues that aligned with the AOX Value Stream Owner (director, operations).
  • Provide direct leadership to assigned program managers and proactively strengthen the function through the performance management process, including individual and group goal setting, coaching and development. Manage department priorities aligned with the strategy deployment process (SDP). Mentor talent to assume increased responsibilities. Deploy resources to meet customer demands. Establish and maintain product-training requirements.
  • Maintain current and actionable market-customer-pursuit intelligence that supports the assigned product and business unit objectives. Support technology roadmap development by providing voice-of-customer insight.
  • Develop and implement the AOX programs operating model and organizational design. Evaluate and implement program and product best practices from the AOX business areas and business unit standards. Implement programs daily management standards, standard business systems and tools, and align improvement focus with operations and engineering teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in Program Management.
  • Proven track record of developing product strategy and developing customer relationships, pursuit capture, and shaping requirements.
  • Product-area technical experience. Requires the passion and relentless drive to achieve results, exceptional leadership skills, effective and timely decision-making, negotiation skills, and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with implementation and execution of process standards focused on programs, business development, and risk management identification and mitigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree(s) in STEM discipline(s) and/or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience managing program managers
  • Experience with development and implementation of programs operating model and organizational design and evaluation and implementation of best practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Salary Range: 192500 - 288700

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
