Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager of Contracts to join the qualified and diverse individuals of the Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD), with this position supporting contract negotiations and management for the complex commercial geosynchronous spacecraft agreements and cutting-edge on-orbit robotic space vehicle servicing contracts of Northrop Grumman’s subsidiary company, Space Logistics LLC.  This position is located in Dulles, VA.

This exciting position will work closely with senior contracts, business development/sales, program managers, finance, legal and other functional groups in managing domestic and international contracts to achieve strong customer satisfaction, resolve contractual issues and perform customer coordination in accordance with agreement terms.  Significant focus and creativity will be required in responding to requests for proposals and negotiating complex agreements, including identifying and addressing risk elements of agreements and necessary coordination with program, legal, finance and tax teams, as well as management.  Essential will be positively addressing and resolving or mitigating risk elements during contract negotiations to achieve a favorable risk position and acceptable agreement for Northrop Grumman/Space Logistics.

Additional responsibilities of the Manager of Contracts will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reviewing and obtaining approval of contractual documents and adherence to company policies and acceptable risk positions.
  • Maintaining a keen attention to detail.
  • Establishing and managing company contractual records.
  • Ability to offer guidance and work cooperatively with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Actively support diversity and inclusion through seeking out and including diverse opinions and perspectives.
  • Commitment and energy to meet customer needs and completion timeframes.
  • Negotiation of supporting documents such as non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, memorandums of understanding and other agreements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with 6+ years of relevant experience in commercial contract negotiation and management.
  • Proven understanding of legal principles governing contracts
  • Proven ability to actively pursue problem resolution and obtain needed coordination.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally several times annually, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, law degree and/or paralegal experience.
  • Experience with Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements.
  • Thorough understanding of FAR/DFARS to support government spacecraft and space service contracts.
  • Experience in or familiarity with ITAR and export licensing laws and regulations.
  • Superior problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Salary Range: 116200 - 174200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
