Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation is seeking a Contracts Manager 1 to join its team of qualified, diverse individuals, supporting its Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD).   The successful applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's TSSD Division contracts operations organization, and will have responsibilities supporting the TSSD leadership, as well as interfacing with the Space Sector Operations organization. The successful candidate will be a direct report to Senior Manager of Contracts Operations in TSSD, and will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the Contracts Managers/Directors, business managers, and other functional teams throughout the organization.   The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of operational duties to facilitate the teams overall successful financial performance and risk mitigation.  Candidate's ability to build strong customer intimacy, and employee engagement is a key priority to assist with growing this important area.  The Contract Manager will directly support regular data calls and contractual documents for protection of the company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements and adherence to company policies; and therefore a keen attention to detail is essential.  In this role, having a diverse cultural awareness and experience in contracts administration is critical in supporting the organization. Regular and proactive interface and effective collaboration is required with program, technical and operations organizations in order to provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the contracts, change management discipline and to ensure timeliness of submissions. The Contract Manager’s responsibility includes being able to make decisions in a timely manner, offer guidance and work cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, export and security for seamless contract administration activities.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision and management of three (3) staff personnel and for providing objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines & general policies while maintaining a strong level of engagement.  Contract Manager must be a role model for diversity and inclusion through seeking out and including diverse opinions and perspectives, has the ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources. Successful candidate must also demonstrate commitment and energy to meet customer needs.   Contract Manager’s ability to provide concise and effective communication through presentation, written documentation or e-mail format with different levels of Management is key.  Experience with SAM.gov Entity Administration, Contract Closeouts, SharePoint administration, and Microsoft 365 tools is preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years experience working in Contracts Administration or related field or 3 years with a Master’s degree

  • Demonstrated command of Contracts Administration in a FAR/DFARS environment

  • Experience negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and types of agreements

  • Strong proposal development skills, solid negotiation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred skills and experiences :

  • Background in DoD contracting, prior experience with the USG and/or Major Defense Contractor customers

  • Demonstrated 1+ years of leadership or supervisor experience

  • SharePoint administration, and Microsoft 365 tools

  • Experience with SAM.gov Entity Administration, and Contract Closeouts



Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
