The Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking a Harness Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in either Dulles, VA or Gilbert, AZ.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development of total Harness product for programs. Lead Engineering and Design staff developing detailed Spacecraft Harness Design, including flight part selection, creation of wire harness drawings and schematics, and Harness Assembly and modeling development
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total harness subsystem solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total harness spacecraft design
  • Interfacing with Design and Manufacturing groups to monitor component production process/progress
  • Interfacing with Integration and Test group to monitor harness and component integration
  • Be comfortable with leading a Harness Engineering and Design team from a Technical perspective, meeting deadlines, working on multiple tasks concurrently, and working with various engineering disciplines and customers as required
  • Be able to prioritize, execute, and delegate tasks in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
  • Have strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Engineer

  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 3 years’ experience w/ a Masters; or a PhD. Relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience with leading/managing a team of Harness Engineers/Designers
  • Experience leading the development of detailed harness design, the ability to collaborate and work on a team, and be a self-sufficient independent worker

Sr. Principal Engineer

  • 9 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 7 years’ experience w/ a Masters; or 4 years of experience with a PhD. Relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience with leading/managing a team of Harness Engineers/Designers
  • Experience leading the development of detailed harness design, the ability to collaborate and work on a team, and be a self-sufficient independent worker

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using/interfacing with Creo Schematics and supporting modeling and/or fabricating harnesses
  • Familiar with Harness Related Mil Specs and NASA specs
  • Active Top Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
