Northrop Grumman’s Space systems sector is seeking a level 3 or 4 Employee Experience & Onboarding Representative to help drive cultural transformation and deliver on our “Day 1 to 365” onboarding and assimilation model and its associated engagement initiatives.  If you have proven experience partnering with stakeholders to drive large-scale organizational change and ensuring your projects and change initiatives meet expected outcomes, we want to talk to you!

The selected candidate will report to the Early Careers Manager; within the Organizational Effectiveness department of HR.  This individual will advance business objectives by facilitating the people side of change, which may include changes to business processes, systems and technology, organization structures, job roles and more.  The preferred location for this role is within commutable distance from our Dulles VA or Redondo Beach CA facilities.  We may consider a remote work scenario for this role.

Primary responsibilities for the Level 3, Employee Experience & Onboarding Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Integrating change management activities into project plans by assessing change readiness, identifying stakeholders and developing appropriate plans and countermeasures; providing subject matter expertise, coaching and guidance to assigned teams.
  • Supporting sector-level change management efforts and culture change initiatives that have people, process and technology implications (e.g. digital transformation).
  • Acting as a liaison with the Space Experience teams and work with key partners in HR and the business to develop plans and strategies for improving the employee experience through employee and leadership development efforts.
  • Providing two-way communication between Organizational Effectiveness sector Employee Welcoming Lead and Sector Site Employee Experience Excellence Lead to help drive the improvement of Employee Experience efforts by identifying and communicating opportunities that will increase the speed of adoption.
  • Partnering with HR, business site stakeholders, and Organization Effectiveness team members to coordinate efforts and achieve desired objectives.

In addition to the previously listed responsibilities, the Level 4, Employee Experience & Onboarding Representative will be expected to:

  • Apply change management processes/tools to develop and implement effective change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption, improve organization performance, and increase operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and design courses and curriculum (ex. Needs assessments, storyboarding, scripts, visuals, etc) for in-person, virtual, and online materials.
  • Design learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
  • Develop and manage online learning communities and drives train-the-trainer Communities of Practice.
  • Define success metrics and monitoring progress against goals across the change management portfolio and recommending enhancements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience (to include change management, organization effectiveness, employee engagement, and/or large-scale employee engagement and culture transformation initiatives) – OR – a Master's degree with 4+ years of related experience as outlined above.  Additional 4+ years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of related experience (to include change management, organization effectiveness, employee engagement, and/or large-scale employee engagement and culture transformation initiatives) – OR – a Master's degree with 8+ years of related experience as outlined above.  Additional 4+ years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Additional Basic qualifications for both levels:

  • Practical experience managing projects and ensuring change management is integrated effectively on project teams.
  • Experience collaborating, leading and building rapport across all levels of the organization to include C-level executives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint).’
  • US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience as a HR Business Partner.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting employee engagement and/or transformation initiatives for a large organization.
  • Practical experience in a broad range of change management principles, methodologies and tools; strong understanding of how people work (e.g., human centered design approach) through the change process with successful implementation experience.
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci or other CM designation) highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and/or Design Thinking.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and ability to influence decision making without direct authority at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Organized with demonstrated strength in strategy planning and tactics.
  • Previous experience in the Aerospace & Defense or Engineering & Science industries (complex matrixed organization) or large consulting firm with deep implementation experience.

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
