Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team in one of the following locations:

  • Dulles, VA
  • Redondo Beach, CA
  • San Diego, CA
  • Linthicum, MD
  • Aurora, CO
  • Colorado Springs, CO

The position will report to the Manager of International Trade Compliance for the Payload and Ground Systems division.  Although on-site support at one of the listed locations is preferred, the position can also support a hybrid schedule or full-time telework.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and managing comprehensive internal export control strategies to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security.
  • Determining requirements for and preparing DoS license/agreements and/or DoC licenses for a variety of complex export/import scenarios, including marketing, sales, procurement and ongoing program activities.
  • Ensuring transactional activities comply with US government regulations and internal procedures by conducting gate reviews for technical data exports, foreign travel, foreign visits, and export/import shipments.
  • Transactional reviews to include conducting thorough assessments to determine and document exemption/exception applicability. 
  • Conducting and/or assisting with Commodity Jurisdiction and Classification analysis and determinations.
  • Conducting contract and proposal reviews and providing appropriate guidance and license/authorization strategy.
  • Managing export/import authorizations through their life cycle, including maintaining applicable records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Developing and delivering presentations including Export General Awareness training, program/function specific export training and program/capture export licensing strategy updates to division leadership. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years related experience or Master’s degree with 8 years related experience  
  • Working knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Experience in the applicability and use of ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions.
  • Although this position does not require an active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance, the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with the technology release process and foreign trade regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Salary Range: $89,800 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
