The Space Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist 2 to join our team and augment the ECWC (Electronic Components Work Center).  This position is located in Dulles, VA and will be on 1st shift.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued.

  • Requisitions needed supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones.

  • Prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts.

  • Maintain track a daily spread sheet of activities 

  • Pick components according to daily spread sheet and priorities and prepare kits for manufacturing

  • Load reels to feeder and load to magazines in proper order and hand off to SMT operator

  • Label reels with inventory labels and setup kits according to daily/weekly work-center schedule

  • Cycle count components and perform daily kit audits

  • Responsible for keeping a neat, clean, and organized workspace

  • Responsible for reading all documents and historical data to make process more efficient

  • Responsible for handling materials and detailed data entry of items into systems

  • Used automated material identification scanner to move, stack, bins, and select storage locations and pick material per work order

  • Maintains outstanding records for documenting inventory

  • Maintains excellent customer relations and developed customer rapport

  • Process all inventory transactions including ready for stocks, location transfers, reservations, kits, inter/intra program transfers, returns to stocks, incoming customer furnished materials, and etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma OR GED and a minimum of 2 years’ of relevant experience

  • Verify items and quantities on vendor pack list against physical items and quantities received

  • Verify data on pack list from vendor against purchase order

  • Post receipt against purchase order and deliver items to appropriate department or individual

  • Working knowledge of MS Office preferred

  • Must be detailed oriented and have good communication skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be comfortable with change

  • Ability to solve problems

  • Able to lift 50 plus pounds

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Experience working with government customers (internal and external)


Salary Range: $38,700 USD - $64,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
