Northrop Grumman is hiring a Mechanical Technician 1 to support our Tactical Space Systems Division located in Dulles, VA.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing operations in the Propulsion Work Center (PWC)

  • Typical daily activities include supporting mechanical and thermal installations and assemblies on flight hardware

  • Perform work using a combination of model based designs and 2D drawings, as directed per in detailed work instructions

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA or other 2 year technical degree with 0 years of experience or 2 years’ mechanical assembly experience in lieu of AA degree

  • Experience using basic hand tooling including torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers and multimeters

  • Excellent communication skills on all fronts (listening and speaking)

  • Must possess good interpersonal skills to be able to get along well with other workers (cohesion)

  • Must have good coordination and organizational abilities.

  • Willingness to work as part of a team

  • Ability to multitask if need be and display flexibility while carrying out duties

  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aircraft tube forming experience

  • GTAW orbital tubing welding training


Salary Range: $36,400 USD - $60,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
