The Orbit Analyst/Flight Dynamics Engineer performs the following functions and analyses:

The Orbit Analyst/Flight Dynamics Engineer performs the following functions and analyses:
- Pre-mission orbital analyses for satellite missions in a variety of orbit regimes (e.g. LEO, GEO, Cis-lunar)
- Launch window analysis
- Mission sequence of events definition
- Propellant budgeting analyses and on-orbit fuel requirements and mission lifetime estimates
- Participation in mission rehearsals to simulate orbital analysis tasks performed in operations
- Maneuver planning and optimization analyses
- Orbit determinations to specify tracking system parameters, define the orbital state, and predict orbital events
- Operational support for orbit transfer and station keeping maneuvers
- Analyses of satellite and constellation access, coverage, lifetime, and additional trade studies
- Satellite rendezvous and proximity operations planning and analyses
- Concept of operations (ConOps) development
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution.
• Be majoring in or having majored in Engineering, Physics, or related field
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation experience, and the ability to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the program team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Possess strong computing skills with familiarity with Systems Tool Kit (STK), Matlab, Python, C#, C/C++, Visual Basic, or Fortran. • Experience with other software systems, development environments, or programming languages is beneficial. • Understanding of issues in scientific and numerical computing and developing simulations of physical systems is an asset.
