The Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) Integration Engineer will work with other ECLSS engineers, subsystem engineers and technicians at Northrop Grumman, ECLSS vendors and NASA to ensure Gateway ECLSS requirements are met for the HALO module.  Experience with design, development, or testing of spacecraft fluid systems, thermal systems, or ECLSS systems desired. Oversee component through subsystem assembly and testing of ECLSS hardware and eventual integration into HALO module. Support the ECLSS CAM and technical lead(s) with ECLSS system design and integration activities, to include working with subcontractors and ECLSS engineering teams. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. 

This requisition may be filled either a Principal or a Senior Principal level.  Basic Qualifications for Principal ECLSS Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 5-8 years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience.  Master's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 4-6 years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience.  PhD degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 2-4 years with system and /or hardware design experience in the aerospace industry. Basic Qualfiications for Sr. Principal ECLSS Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 9-12 years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience.  Master's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 7-10 years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience.  PhD degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 4-7 years with system and /or hardware design experience in the aerospace industry. Basic Qualifications (continued):
  • Experience with Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) on human spaceflight systems.
  • Travel up to 10 percent of the time and remain deployed for up to three weeks consecutively working long hours as may be required to support Crew Systems ground operations.
  • Prior Human Space Flight experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent field and 5-10 years of experience working in Human Spaceflight Systems
  • Experience in human spacecraft ECLS systems
  • Experience/Strong Knowledge in ECLSS hardware and software operations (Preferably ISS Based)
  • Experience in spacecraft component and system level qualification and acceptance testing
