Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is seeking a Launch Vehicle Adapter Mission Systems Assembly, Integration, and Test Lead to join our National Security Systems (NSS) - Space Systems Group. Successful candidates for this position will work in a technical role primarily leading Launch Vehicle Assembly (LVA) Integration, and Test planning and execution along with I&T personnel and the Launch Vehicle Adapter as well as the Space Vehicle’s sub-element’s technical teams for a first generation flight program. This role will require coordinating and leading efforts on the development of I&T test plans, procedures, identification and securing of facility resources and ground support equipment needed for this program. This position will be based at the NGIS’s Dulles, Virginia campus and may require some travel. The candidate is the liaison between the systems, subsystems cognizant engineers, and I&T Staff.  The candidate will also be the systems engineering focal point for the avionics and software development on the system, and coordinate with the software developers through development and testing. The LVA design is a first of a kind, complex sub-element with avionics, software, power augmentation, on a composite structure in order to accommodate 3 primary space vehicle missions. NoVASpace

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree in STEM Science Technology Engineering or Math or related field and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience leading small teams towards program milestones.
  • Ability to coordinate I&T planning and development with multiple organizations, including external partners.
  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience in space systems engineering

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Experience with integration and test, specifically launch vehicle dispensers/adapters, or space vehicle bus and payload sub-elements.
  • Experience with test planning and procedure development.
  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to communicate with mission partners and technical stakeholders.
