We have an opening for a Principal / Electrical Power Subsystem Engineer (Lunar Missions) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA or can also be located in Gilbert, AZ.
Roles and Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for the technical understanding of the spacecraft bus and electrical power subsystem as a whole
- Be responsible for detailed technical knowledge of various electrical power equipment
- Manage the budget and schedule on assigned project
- Provide active oversight of assigned technical team and hardware development effort
- Apply core EE principals to adapt/improve heritage equipment and features
- Prepare proposal costing and technical assessments
- Prepare and present technical packages for design reviews
- Act as a liaison with program management and various customers
This position can be filled at either the Engineer or Principal Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM Discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering) and 5 years of experience; OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; OR a PhD
Understanding of the generation, storage, conditioning/regulation, and distribution of electrical power
U.S. Citizenship
Sr. Principal Engineer
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM Discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering) and 9 years of experience; OR a Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; OR a PhD with 4 years of experience
Understanding of the generation, storage, conditioning/regulation, and distribution of electrical power
U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of analog electronics and various power converter topologies
Ability to work through detailed analyses with minimal oversight
Experience in managing subcontractors and working with government and private sector customers
Design experience – while this is not a circuit design position, knowledge of the process is highly desirable
