Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Northrop Grumman is looking to add a Field Engineer to our team of qualified and diverse employees in EAFB, CA!

The selected individual will join a small team with different and complementary specialty skills to learn and execute repairs or modifications to aerospace systems at the development location in order to execute them in the field. Must be proficient in reading and following technical manuals, or repair manuals. Must be able to communicate effectively with design engineers and work closely with other aerospace specialties when learning and testing the functionality of new repair procedures or processes.

Expected to be part of a team that develops installation procedures, steps and redlines drawings for newly designed parts or components. Once the newly designed part or component is ready to be installed on operational assets, the selected individual will be expected to accompany the retrofit and modification team to the field where they will execute the install or repair and provide training or instructions to available technicians for follow on maintenance when required. The candidate must have a deep and diverse mechanical background in aviation systems and sub-systems. The amount of time spent in the field is expected to change with the amount of system modifications or repairs executed.

The candidate must be willing to support a dynamic work schedule, willing to travel to potentially remote locations, and frequently respond to pressing needs on short notice. The candidate must be equally comfortable briefing a government customer, members of program leadership, and working closely with engineers and maintenance personnel.  Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills are essential in this role.
