Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Maintenance Trainer (level 3) to join our diverse team of professionals located in Edwards Air force Base, CA.

The Principal Maintenance Trainer will establish and direct a training system and/or conducts classroom and practical instruction to provide technical knowledge for the safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft, aircraft systems, ground equipment, tools, test equipment, stores and facilities, according to established procedures. Analyzes current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs. Writes, edits, and sustain materials for technical instruction. Provides assistance and support to all divisions in helping them determine their training needs and develop and conduct their maintenance training programs. Establishes and directs the maintenance of a program wide training and qualification record system. Maintains currency in technical developments, technical training, audiovisual techniques, and should be proficient in teaching methodologies. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills are required for the position.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelors degree and six years of Maintenance Training experience; Masters degree and four year of relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, ten years of related experienced may be considered

• Experience as a military aircraft maintainer

• Experience in aviation maintenance training development, instructing and sustainment

• Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate Storyline development suite and Advance Management System or related software

• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year

• Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance and has the ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

• Degree in the field of Education, experience as a training courseware developer using Articulate Storyline is preferred

Salary Range: $76,200 USD - $114,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
