Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Field Engineering is seeking a highly motivated systems engineer to join our F-35 Radar Sustainment Support team.

This position will require preparation time at our facility in Baltimore, MD prior to starting a permanent long term position at Eglin AFB, Florida. The start date for support at Eglin AFB is anticipated to be in early 2022.

The Eglin AFB On-site engineer will provide sustaining engineering support for radar related activities of the F35 United States Reprogramming lab (USRL) for NGC provided hardware and software. In addition the on-site engineer will also perform systems and sub system analysis and provide engineering technical support to resolve customer issues,

This job may be filled as a Principal Systems/Electronics Engineer or a Sr. Principal Systems/Electronics Engineer. Qualifications for both are listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems/Electronics Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field with 7 years technical experience or 5 years experience with a Masters degree
  • Experience in hardware\software integration of embedded systems
  • Knowledge of RF fundamentals including radar operations
  • Experience with lab support equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers
  • Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment
  • Secret Clearance investigated within the last 5 years, with the ability to gain program specific clearances. U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with airborne AESA radar/avionics hardware/software integration and test activities
  • Understanding and use of radar stimulator and related systems
  • Understanding of basic network communication protocols to facilitate equipment communication
  • Knowledge of Radar Modes and their tactical utility
  • Experience with Root Cause Action investigations
  • Understanding of flight scenarios and mission components

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field with 9 years technical experience or 7 years experience with a Masters degree; 4 years with a PhD.
  • Experience in hardware\software integration of embedded systems
  • Knowledge of RF fundamentals including radar operations
  • Experience with lab support equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers
  • Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment
  • Secret Clearance investigated within the last 5 years, with the ability to gain program specific clearances. U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite

Salary Range: 70600 - 105800
Salary Range 2: 108400 - 162600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
