We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Test Engineer based out of Eglin, AFB. As a Sr. Principal Test Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on complex electronic warfare simulators alongside a multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a passionate, driven, and goal-oriented individual who has experience with EW or RADAR systems, and diagnosing electronic hardware to support our Electronic Warfare Stimulator product lines in Eglin, FL, where we deploy critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter.

What You’ll get to Do:

Be part of Northrop Grumman's dynamic Systems Integration team in Buffalo, NY.  Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who demonstrates the ability to manipulate bench software to diagnose hardware issues, write scripts to automate tasks, and assist our customer in building threat emitter files.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Interact independently with customers and coordinate engineering efforts within the company to identify solutions to customer reported problems.
  • Provide Engineering support to resolve system level problems reported by the customer on delivered hardware.
  • Maintain operational status and configuration of NGC Electronic Warfare Stimulators.
  • Utilize knowledge, special test equipment (STE), and instrumented data to troubleshoot/repair hardware failures
  • Support customer missions, monitor and convey stimulator performance and assist with generating new emitters.
  • Generate weekly status reports documenting test events and anomalies warranting further investigation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Science degree and a minimum of 9 years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge or experience using commercial test equipment such as Power Meters, Spectrum Analyzers or Oscilloscopes.
  • Demonstrate experience interfacing with customers, clients, or end users.
  • Ability to change physical locations based upon need.
  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50 lbs.
  • Ability to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to undergo training as needed at the Northrop Grumman site in Buffalo, NY
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that has been granted or renewed within the last 5 years or is currently enrolled in continuous evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in STEM degree preferred
  • Strong software background which includes writing scripts, navigating Red-Hat Linux systems from the command line, editing config files and knowledge of XML
  • Ability to configure networks and resolve ethernet communication issues
  • Fluent in RF / Electrical test equipment, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Oscilloscope and Digital Multi-Meters. 
  • Experience with RF generation equipment, understanding of RF synthesis and mixing techniques.
  • Experience with RADAR principles and/or Electronic Warfare threat analysis
  • Experience leading teams and interfacing with customers

Salary Range: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
