Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be in El Segundo, CA.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

Manufacturing Engineering job duties involve the following: provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used to meet the Engineering design, participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during assembly, define sequence of operations for product builds, investigate and initiate corrective actions and improvements that involve non-conforming product and identify improvement opportunities in areas that require producibility and affordability initiatives.  Provide liaison support for Engineering definition to influence low production costs for integrated assembly related to a range of statements of work from structures and assemblies to electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids and propulsion systems.

Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems.  They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.  We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing organization.  They will be involved in a variety of activities ranging from sustaining, new product development, integration and continuous improvement.

Associate Manufacturing Engineer Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical) and 0 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. US citizen required for clearance

Manufacturing Engineer Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical) and 2 years of related experience; OR Master’s Degree in STEM with 0 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. US citizen required for clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and 3-D models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels of management and to individual contributors
  • Current DOD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Special Program Access
  • Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates
  • Siemens NX, Team Center, SAP, and Manufacturing Execution
  • System Integration and Test equipment and techniques into production lines
  • Lean Manufacturing experience

Salary Range: $61,900 USD - $92,900 USD
Salary Range 2: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
