Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal or Sr. Principal Test Conductor to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.
The qualified applicant will support a diverse portfolio of research and technology development activities. As part of your assignment, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to determine how survivability technologies can best be integrated into air-based systems within the NGAS portfolio.
Northrop Grumman is one of the industry leaders in Stealth Technology. As such, we are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms. We are currently looking for experienced Low Observable / Survivability Engineers to work on a variety of challenging projects. One area where we are in need of talent is Electromagnetic Testing, Analysis, and Prototyping.
Essential Duties:
- Develops and manufactures novel specimen mounting techniques to characterize the electromagnetic properties of new materials and structures
- Develops continuous test methodology improvements for existing electromagnetic test equipment
- Integrates new materials onto models and test beds for Radar Cross Section (RCS) testing at offsite locations; builds and tests physical models; designs, develops, and builds test and verification equipment; and develops, tests, and integrates specialty materials
- Works closely with engineers of other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or Sr. Principal level.Â
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Test Conductor:
- 5+ Years in Engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM), OR 3+ years with Masters in STEM, OR 0+ Years with a PH.D in STEM, OR 9 years of exempt experience in Engineering, Test, or as a Test Conductor will be considered in lieu of a STEM degree
- Current Active In-Scope DoD Secret Clearance reviewed within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain access to a Special Access Program.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings, build and incorporated modify lab equipment.
- Previous administrator experience with using a collaboration tool such as Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with Configuration Management and Quality.
- Experience with property inventory and procurement processes such as iBuy and EPS.
- Experience with satisfactorily fulfilling State & Federal OSHA and HAZMAT procedures and internal audits.

- 9+ Years in Engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM), OR 7+ years with Masters in STEM, OR 4+ Years with a PH.D in STEM, OR 13 years of exempt experience in Engineering, Test, or as a Test Conductor will be considered in lieu of a STEM degree
- Current Active In-Scope DoD Secret Clearance reviewed within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain access to a Special Access Program.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings, build and incorporated modify lab equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in signature integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing
- Knowledge of low observables and RCS performance in operational environments
- Experience in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX
- Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical languages
- Knowledge and ability with EM data processing tools, such as TOMIS, CTGCalc, or others
- Experience proposing and running successful R&D efforts to develop survivable components and technology, including budget, schedule, tasking, and review of technical products.
- An active U.S. Government issued DoD Top Secret security clearance and/or previous SAP/SAR clearance
