Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history.   Northrop Grumman Weapons Systems is currently seeking an Associate Program Cost Scheduling Control Analyst - Financial for our Elkton, Maryland location.   The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers.  The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA. Job Summary: As a Program Cost Scheduling Control Analyst you will assist and coordinate with the program financial analysts in supporting our strategic and space related business programs. This position will work very closely with Northrop Grumman program management, operational leaders, and internal and external customers. Assists and supports program financial analysts with Preparation of budgets and schedules for contract work and financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.  Provides assistance in data gathering and analysis to ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, assisting with preparation of expenditure projections, and submittal of timely requests for additional funding to the government. Aides in incorporating contractual changes into control systems to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines. Support for program financial analyses will include, but not limited to the following tasks:
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and communicate recommendations to management in a clear, organized summary.
  • Work with the program team to integrate project cost with scheduled activity.
  • Provide monthly / quarterly reporting and analysis to support business processes.
  • Assist in planning and forecasting program financial performance.  Prepare future strategic plans.
  • Serve as a resource to management in understanding results by reporting and investigating variances.
  • Use financial reporting and provide analysis of key metrics to direct management

Basic Requirements:
  • Be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Degree completed by the summer of 2021.
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • Previous finance internships/co-op or other work experience
  • Prior leadership experience (professional/community/extracurricular)
  • Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and data bases (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power Point).
  • Ability to extract, compile, document and analyze data.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with others
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills
  • Independent self-starter and proactive contributor. Seeks to continually improve business processes and add value.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines.  Organize deliverables in a clean and presentable format.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Requirements:
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7/4.0 or higher
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups
