Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Flight Test Air Vehicle Maintenance Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This leadership role is located in Edwards AFB, CA.
The selected candidate will co-lead a team of 60 engineers, managers and technicians as a for a large emerging aircraft test program to ensure that all maintenance, modification, configuration, inspection, and test actions are completed to support program goals. The Flight Test Maintenance Manager will collaborate with government and contractor leaders to support development of detailed execution plans and drive an integrated team approach to problem solving also supporting extensive executive-level interaction. This leader will be responsible for maintaining resource forecasts and achieving cost and schedule performance goals for their assigned aircraft. The Flight Test Maintenance Manager will drive a strong safety culture to effectively manage risk and safeguard people and property. Additionally, this leader will drive disciplined execution and process rigor to ensure compliance with applicable procedures including DCMA Instruction 8210.
This position is 100% on-site at Edwards AFB, CA. Candidate must be willing to work extended shifts, weekends and holidays as required to meet program schedule and objectives.

The selected Candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on the business needs: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule Fri, Sat, Sun) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1st shift.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of relevant professional/military experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of relevant professional/military experience, OR 5 years related experience with a PhD in a STEM discipline
- Must have prior management / leadership experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of combined aviation maintenance or manufacturing experience
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience in a developmental/operational test maintenance environment
- Experience in a US Air Force Combined Test Force (CTF)
- Experience leading an aircraft operation under DCMA Instruction 8210 oversight
- Demonstrated extensive aircraft maintenance experience
- Demonstrated strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills
