Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Director 1 Aeronautical Engineering to join our diverse team of professionals supporting major defense programs located at Rancho Bernardo (San Diego), CA.
Job Summary: As the Air Vehicle IPT Director, you will support the management of the Air Vehicle for sustainment, production, developmental, and international programs across the RQ-4 and Airborne Target product lines. These product lines support 9 different domestic and international customers in operations and with active and future modernization efforts. This position directly reports to the Vehicle Engineering National Director functionally and the RQ-4 Program Director for assignment manager.
Responsibilities may include:
Performance and oversight of a diverse multifunctional multi-site team supporting all 9 customers
Managing the Grand Sky liaison engineering related to the RQ-4 Range Hawk depot modifications and modernization
Taking direction from the Program Director and Chief Engineer to give both technical and managerial direction to the subordinate engineering and manufacturing staff including addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of all air vehicle work packages
Delegation of Authority responsibility for program planning and performance
Managing the development of air vehicle design as well as production in support of development programs. Additional support will be required to ensure sustaining engineering services are adequately met for those designs and products.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 10 years of related experience; OR Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience
Experience in the design of aircraft systems
5 years of experience as a project lead, integrated program team, and/or cost account manager leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost, and achieving all requirements
3 years providing technical leadership over an engineering team
Knowledge of and experience in an Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Ability to travel (approximately 10-25%)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering or management
Active TS/SCI clearance
Prior experience in program management or engineering leadership experience on a large United States Air Force program
Unmanned air vehicle experience
Prior experience leading the planning, scheduling, and execution of enterprise-level Operations, Sustainment, or Information Systems Services activities
Familiar with technical data development and sustainment processes
Experience building relationships with strategic customers
Experience developing sourcing strategies such as soliciting/analyzing requests for proposals, negotiating contracts, and coordinating supplier integration plans
