Northrup Grumman Innovation Systems, Space Systems Group – Integrated Operations Directorate is looking for an experienced Mission Operations Trainer to join the Training Division team to develop and deliver operations training curriculum to Government Customers. As a trainer, the selected candidate will be required to design and develop training material to support automated scenarios, mission exercises and certification check rides for the customer and internal operations personnel. Other responsibilities include working with the Systems Engineering Lead to identify training needs and develop training plans and curriculum such as reference guides, operational guides and evaluation tools. The MO/OA Trainer will also work with mission operations personnel to ensure training curriculum and scenarios accurately represent current operational documentation used during on-orbit checkout and commissioning of satellites as well as during execution of primary mission(s). The MO/OA Trainer may also support system development activities such as requirements management, architecture development, integration and test and formal program milestones. This position requires extensive experience planning Rendezvous and Proximity Operations, and will be responsible for creating and delivering Orbit Analysis and mission planning training to internal and external trainees. S/he will also be required to interface with program and customer personnel regularly
Product deliveries include: Lesson Plans, Powerpoint Presentations, Training Videos, Scenarios, Test/Quizzes, Student Guides, Training Plans, and other training material as necessary to support contractual training requirements.
Must work collaboratively in a team environment across engineering disciplines to accomplish mission goals. Must excel in a fast-paced mission focused environment. Must be able to meet rapid development timelines.
Specific experience and responsibilities shall include:
- Developing training material IAW Instructional System Design Processes
- On-Console Command and Control Satellite Operations
- Ground System anomaly troubleshooting and resolution
- Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) Training Development
- Operational Mission Planning and Execution (RPO) support for launch/early orbit operations
Basic Qualifications:
- Required clearance level: Active or current Top Secret SSBI / SCI eligible
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, education, or related field (Experience in lieu of education may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- U.S. citizen
- Advanced Orbital Mechanics education/training
- Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) mission planning/operations
- Experience w/ MS Office Suite products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Web/video-based training development experience
- Instructional System Design experience
- Lesson plan development
- Simulation/scenario development
- Test/Quiz Development
- Experience utilizing training development tools such as Camtasia or Adobe captivate
