Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeking a Principal Engineer RF Microwave Design to join our team of creative and diverse engineers. The position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA and will be part of the Electronics and Payloads’ RF and Mixed Signal Products Department - an organization of 160 plus engineers and technicians that develops components which include microwave and millimeter wave, low noise amplifiers, high linearity mixers, power amplifiers, multipliers, bandpass filters, modulators, frequency sources, high-speed/high-resolution ADCs, DACs, power-management ICs, custom mixed signal ICs, and SoCs for a variety of space and air programs. The candidate will support the P093 Program’s RF Integrated Product Team. This role requires the candidate to have an active Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) Clearance.
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following essential functions with minimal guidance from team lead:
- Conduct electrical design trades
- Analyze Flight test data for various levels of hardware design and integration
- Conduct worst case analyses and documentation
- Finalize electrical design, support prototype and final hardware build & test
- Develop and present design reviews for internal and external customers
- Coordinate up and down levels of hardware integration and across multi-disciplines to deliver Flight hardware

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience in an Engineering Environment; OR a minimum of 3 years of experience with a STEM master's degree; OR, 0 years of experience with a STEM PhD. degree
- Experience designing, analyzing and/or testing RF modules, boards, and/or units
- Technical experience with Cadence Design System, ADS, SystemVue, Sonnet, HFSS or other relevant CAD tools
- Must have an active Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) Clearance and ability to work in a classified closed environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with a team of cross-functional, multi-disciplinary engineers
- Ability to lead hardware from design phase through Flight delivery
- Experience with electronics lab test equipment and test software
- Technical proficiency with Cadence Design System, ADS, SystemVue, Sonnet, HFSS or other relevant CAD tools
