Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Cable and Harness Design) OR Principal Electrical Engineer (Cable and Harness Design) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and will require the selected candidate to work on-site. (No hybrid or telework.)
Duties for this position include performing design and analysis of cable and harness assemblies at the system level. The selected candidate must have experience in interface and cable design and experience with MIL-STD components, including connectors and wires. Experience with system interconnect and system architecture is critical for success. The position requires working with multi-discipline functions in a team environment to ensure that deliverable products meet requirements.
Specific assignments include:
- Manufacturing support
- Performing technical presentations to internal team or customer team
- Development of cable drawings (schematic, wirelist, assembly), parts selection, and trade studies
- Troubleshooting to support anomaly resolution
- Pro-actively communicate with multiple other subsystems to negotiate interface requirements
This position may be filled at either the Electrical Engineer OR Principal Electrical Engineer level, based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Electrical Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) field and 2 years of related electronics engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field with 0 years of related electronics engineering experience
- Experience with Wiring and Harness Design
- Experience with MIL-STD components
- Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Electrical Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) field and 5 years of related electronics engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field with 3 years of related electronics engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of related electronics engineering experience.
- Experience with Wiring and Harness Design
- Experience with MIL-STD components
- Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with CATIA V5 modeling tools or similar systems for design of equipment installations and supporting structure.
- Experience using TeamCenter Engineering and Enterprise configuration management tools
- Experience with HarnesSys tool for harness build to print (BTP) creation.
