Job Duties:
- Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
- Analyze the performance of thermal systems using internally developed tools, thermal desktop and hand calculations.
- Review designs of thermal system to ensure that they will meet the requirements specified for the system.
- Develop testing requirements and procedures to verify the performance of thermal heat transfer systems and verify compliance to requirements.
- Conduct, oversee or supervise testing to verify the performance of various thermal systems.
- Mentor more junior members of the thermal technology team.
Basic Qualifications: -Sr Principal Engineer
- 9 years of direct mechanical/aerospace engineering experience with a Bachelor of Science degree within a STEM discipline; 7 years of mechanical/aerospace engineering with a Masters' degree; 4 years of mechanical/aerospace engineering with a PhD
- Ability to review the design of thermal systems.
- Fundamental understanding of thermal system designs.
Basic Qualifications: - Principal Engineer
- 5 years of direct mechanical/aerospace engineering experience with a Bachelor of Science degree within a STEM discipline; 3 years of mechanical/aerospace engineering with a Masters' degree; 0 years of mechanical/aerospace engineering with a PhD
- Ability to review the design of thermal systems.
- Fundamental understanding of thermal system designs.
