Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems – Propulsion Systems is currently seeking Design & Analysis Engineer for the combined design and analysis engineering organization (3200) team supporting the Promontory (Brigham), UT, Clearfield, UT and Bacchus (Magna), UT facilities.
Role description & Responsibilities:
The design and analysis (D&A) workload is increasing and expected to stay at this higher level for the foreseeable future. In response, the organization is growing.
Job Duties:
Drawing/model ownership and maintenance
MRB Support
Design associated components and structures achieve lowest cost from design and lean manufacturing principles.
Support hardware fabrication, write test plans, oversee testing, analyze test data and make revisions to designs based on results.
Interact with development teams (including specialists in Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Thermal, Structural, Materials, and Test) to certify design solutions that meet all requirements (technical, cost, schedule).
Experience Requirements:
BS degree in an engineering or science discipline and 2 years of experience or MS degree with 0 years’ experience
Experience Preferred:
MS degree
2+ years in solid rocket motor design or analysis
Skills & Qualifications:
·Broad understanding of engineering design, material behaviors
Great written and oral communication skills
Great time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English)
Strong understanding or NG D&A systems, particularly pertaining to the creation and release of design products
Must be knowledgeable of CM rules and practices
Experience producing drawings, test plans, analysis and/or reports
Experience supporting production and dispositioning discrepant hardware.
Understanding of hardware failure modes and risks.
Education/Certifications
BS degree in Engineering or related field required
