Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer – Instrumentation Systems Design. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel – Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The qualified candidate is responsible for electrical design and engineering analysis of RF and electrical LRUs. What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
• Schematic analysis and design review
• Manage electrical interface characteristics
• Develop vehicle block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cables
• Instrumentation to gather data from system test in a lab and in a silo environment
• Provide technical oversight and issue resolution for hardware during development and test
• Provide technical direction and support to the hardware, software, and systems engineering teams in the development and documentation of hardware/software interfaces, including electrical harness design, routing, and RF system design
• Assist in risk identification and tracking, especially risks associated with Flight Termination and Telemetry

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• 5 Years of experience with a Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
• US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
• Experience developing and managing technical requirements for military/aerospace subcontractors
• Strong CAD skills with experience developing wire diagrams or electrical schematics
• Experience designing, analyzing, and developing a power budget for an electrical power system of a military / aerospace system
• Experience with calibration and insulation of strain gauges
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Systems Engineering field of study
• US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
• Prior weapon system experience (GBSD, Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
• Familiarity with Siemens Capital cable design tool or equivalent
