Northrop Grumman Chandler is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to support the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) Program Team.
Job Duties:
- Lead a preexisting and growing team of 20+ electrical engineers working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure.
- Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews.
- Ensures vehicle and component compliance to internal design standards, military standards, and customer requirements.
- Evaluate completed design with more senior engineers and other technical groups to satisfy design requirements.
- Perform cost account management using earned value methods.
- Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage designs or introduce new concepts to meet mission requirements.
- Oversees and reviews system architecture, block diagrams, avionics specifications, qualification testing, and test data review of completed designs.
- Based on specific objectives, leads analysis, design, testing and documentation of complex designs.
- Coordinates and conducts the test programs required to evaluate the design, components, and systems.
- Provides formal peer review of simple engineering designs or analyses for less experienced engineers.
Job Knowledge/Technical Skills
- Broad understanding and application of company, industrial and military technical standards.
- Broad technical expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews.
- With minimal guidance, studies basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems.
- Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature.

- Actively and effectively participates and contributes in a positive manner.
- Supports team decisions and goals.
- Makes an extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer service.
- Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides information necessary to meet customer needs.
- Disciplined with escalation when required.
This is a dual level requisition level III or IV
Basic Qualifications Level III
- BS in engineering and 5 Years experience, or 3 Years experience with master's in engineering.
- Electrical engineering preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Current and Active DoD Secret Security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior launch vehicle and/or interceptor experience.
- Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical components or subsystems
- Team leadership experience.
- Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
- Problem solving not only for technical issues, but also for schedule, cost, resource, and other project challenges.
- Experience working in Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure.
- Mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and electrical system architectures used to meet customer requirements.
- Knowledgeable with the use of basic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and electronic loads.
Basic Qualifications Level IV
- BS in engineering and 9 Years experience, or 7 Years experience with master's in engineering.
- Electrical engineering preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Current and Active DoD Secret Security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior launch vehicle and/or interceptor experience.
- Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical components or subsystems
- Team leadership experience.
- Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
